Most of the sneakers coming out of these designer and shoe brands collections have taken heavy inspiration from the 90’s athletic trainer and support shoe designs. Each brand of course, putting their own spin on things. Today I bring you the top 5 “ugly” sneakers built for the upcoming cold.

Now they present a new model of sneakers that was showcased at the Gucci 2018 cruise event. Featuring the oversized logo on the side of the shoe and the eggshell white finish all around, this is the perfect shoe to cover your feet from the cold in style.
Number 3: Adidas x Raf Simons Ozweego III
This would truly not be a an ugly sneakers list if we didn’t include the iconic Ozweego model. Raf Simons is a modern fashion juggernaut who is in part responsible for helping kick start the ugly shoe trend itself. This model of shoe is based off an older Adidas trainer shoe model from the 90’s. Throw on high quality leather, mesh, and crazy color-ways and you have one of the most unique and distinguishable sneakers out there.
Number 4: Supreme x Nike Air Humara
Supreme and Nike’s relationship spans back a little over a decade. The two brands are very familiar with each other and this chemistry has led to some of the best Nike color-ways the world has seen. We’re picking the most recent iteration in their long line of collabs because of its retro hiking shoe model and funky color-ways that spawned waves of hype. Currently because of not a lot of high demand you might be able to find pairs of these sneakers floating around on eBay or Grailed for around retail price.
Number 5: Balenciaga Triple S
How could we not cap this list off with possibly the most hyped and definitely ugly sneaker of the year. With Demna Gvasalia (Creator of Vetements) as the new creative director at Balenciaga, he has propelled the brand to receive the be the best selling designer brand of 2017. This is partially due to the amazing success they enjoyed with releasing the Triple S shoe model. This shoe pulled inspiration from “ugly” sneakers from all over and created a beautiful Frankenstein of a shoe. So far this sneaker has been sold out everywhere despite its hefty retail price. But with many more color-ways to be restocked and rereleased, perhaps you may have some luck getting your hands on a pair in the near future.
